Field Manager

Field Manager is a mobile suite created to enable real-time data capture and reporting in an airport environment. It is a solution designed for airport personnel that needs to collect operational and safety data - on the go. It is also the perfect solution for our incident tracker, that manages the complexity and paperwork involved with each incident on the ramp. It serves as an operational, cost-cutting and analytical tool for various functions in and around the terminal, and includes a variety of features embedded into a user-friendly mobile app and online platform.

Content can be completely tailored to your operations or airports' needs. Customized data capture forms, shortcuts to your internal systems, and a comprehensive reporting platform are just a few of Field Manager’s value-adding features.

A separate test management platform is used to support the ongoing development of additional features without interrupting service to our customers. This platform also permits fast and remote management of issues, rule-based events, and user concerns. Once problems are diagnosed and corrected, updates to new versions of the app can be pushed to users via email wirelessly.

The client can use as a native iOS/Android app or simply as a web application. When devices are provided, they come equipped with protective cases and are cellular enabled, ensuring uninterrupted Internet connectivity and allowing access to your forms, systems, and communication tools anytime and anywhere. All forms are available offline, and in the event of a connection loss can sync manually or automatically once the connection is resumed.

Secure access control

Strict user rights management allows you to tailor the forms, airports, systems, and reports that can be accessed by each user.

The use of the app or the online platform requires each user to log in with unique credentials. User accounts can be created with varying levels of access. Managers, for example, can only view forms that pertain to their own station when logged in, while members of another airport see a different selection of forms. The same is true of the reporting platform: local managers can view results for themselves and their employees only, while regional managers and auditors can view a broader range of data. Users can permit the app to remember their password. This keeps them signed in to the app at all times and allows multitasking with other apps without interrupting the use of Field Manager.

Upon login, user credentials are verified against a web server for authentication. This ensures the validity of the user and adds a level of security to the app. Because of this, Internet connectivity is required when a user logs in. However, once signed in, a local database in the app works to protect data in case of disconnection during the course of a shift. User contact and credential details are automatically saved to each form to ensure accountability for all work completed.

A number of validations have been put in place to protect the integrity of the data and ensure that all required information is captured. Shift start and end times, for example, can be mandatory fields whenever forms are filled out if required. Airport personnel will be prompted to complete any fields left blank that have been indicated in the validations as required prior to ending each shift, ensuring a complete data set.

Digital data forms

Airport forms, surveys, and safety logs that were traditionally captured on paper are transformed into digital versions that are easy to use in and around the terminal and share.

All forms are contained in one tab within the app. Depending on the access level of the user, the Forms tab will display a predetermined list of forms. Items in progress are displayed as a second column; users can navigate between multiple forms simultaneously and make necessary changes over the duration of a session.

In addition to digitizing your existing forms, Field Manager offers a comprehensive terminal operations summary form, which centralizes all information relevant to an airport’s daily data requirements in one place. The summary form displays an overview of all work conducted with no additional data entry required. Its corresponding report permits high-level monitoring of operations and employee productivity. Information that must be communicated to employees in order to complete their work, such as operational targets, can be managed remotely on a web console where different airports or functions can be benchmarked. Users will be able to access the most updated information each time they use the app.

A number of conveniences have been built into Flight Watches and other forms. These not only streamline the data capture process; they also ensure clean, consistent data to use in reports, comparisons, and trending. Dropdown menus are built wherever possible, and any fields that must be completed from a long list of responses can be prepopulated and offer users suggested completions.

An auto-save function embedded in all forms prevents data loss and makes it possible for users to work on multiple forms at once. Validations are in place to help avoid incomplete forms and limit data entry error by highlighting possible errors prior to closing a shift.

Embedded system shortcuts

Field Manager integrates shortcuts to your existing web-based airport systems, streamlines the login process, and supports multi-tasking.

The Access tab offers shortcut access to external systems without having to leave the app or log out. These systems can remain open through the duration of a session; all systems in use will be listed in a separate column, facilitating multi-tasking from within the app. This allows users to securely access any web-based content they need from anywhere in and around the airport.

Analytics

Real-time analytics can be accessed directly through the app and customized reports generated in seconds or delivered to your inbox.

A self-service reporting platform is accessible through the Field Manager app and can be logged into using any web browser. The integrated reporting permits reviewing data from previously submitted shifts and tracking daily operations. The assigned user profiles are used to determine which reports are available to whom. Data doesn't need to be sorted and analyzed manually. All information entered on Field Manager automatically populates the reports. These can be filtered by airports and a variety of other variables seamlessly.

The dashboard can be set to display the information required most often by airport operations and safety prevention decision makers. Filters can be added to each report to allow users to tailor the information displayed to their needs. Filters can include any field tracked in data forms: date ranges, flights, aircraft, events, employee names or ID numbers, and much more. Reports can be developed for each of your KPIs: employee efficiency, overall productivity, inventory, equipment usage – we can make sure that you have access to information that is meaningful to your airport's operation and will keep you ahead in your safety management.

Real-time alerts

Email alerts can be dispatched automatically to alert decision makers of airport issues or safety incidents as they unfold.

One of the most beneficial aspects of integrating mobile technology to data collection practices in an environment as dynamic as an airport is the ability to capture and respond to issues in real time. With Field Manager, you can program alerts to better monitor troublesome patterns and operational events.

If patterns have emerged that require supervision, such as employee disciplinary infractions, information pertaining to those patterns can be communicated to the data server prior to synching full shift data. Doing so will generate a pop-up notification of other information related to that pattern. This allows for the action to be taken to break the pattern. For example, if an employee is audited by several different managers, employee performance issues may not always be communicated between those managers. This tool would alert each manager of reports made by his colleagues, offering a comprehensive picture of the employee’s performance. This real-time feedback loop offers the ability to enact disciplinary measures immediately without the need to return to the office and verify the history of employee behavior first.

In addition, important operational information that must be transmitted to decision makers in real time can be indicated as such within forms. Further, where applicable, a ‘Send Email Notification’ button can be added into forms. Touching it opens the user’s email, auto-populates a distribution list based on who must be notified of the contents of that particular form, and includes the contents of the main form and any add-ons (photos, corroborating forms) in the body of the email.

In the event of airport incidents or inspection audits that require action, photos and video can be taken using the device’s integrated camera and attached directly to written reports within the app. Finger-touch signatures can be saved directly to reports written on any touchscreen enabled device, eliminating the need to print paper copies.
